Just A few Wedding Pictures

Obviously, I can't post them all, but here are a few from our day.

To view all of them check out www.kalliebrynn.com for the whole album.

Our "go to" dinner

Every family has the token “Spaghetti” dinner. Their sort of ”go to” dinner, when you need something quick, filling and delicious.

Alex and I have eaten our fair share of spaghetti, but we’ve stumbled upon a new favorite, Turkey burgers with a twist.

Try them out and thank me later.

Turkey burgers with a twist:

I don’t do measurements. I just eyeball it. If you like spinach, cook all of it. That’s the great thing about this recipe. You can use as little or as much as you want of an ingredient and it’s still good.

.ground turkey

. spinach

. chopped garlic

. olive oil

. chopped sun-dried tomatoes

. crumbled gorgonzola cheese

1. Saute the spinach & garlic in oil on med-high heat until it’s wilted. (It wilts pretty fast (that’s what she said) and cooks down A LOT.)

2. Mix spinach, sundried tomatoes, cheese & ground turkey. (Work fast, otherwise the turkey starts getting sticky & falls apart easily.)

3. Make into patties and grill. Seriously delicious!

I like serving it with whole wheat martin rolls, sweet potato fries or corn on the cob. The hamburgers reheat really well and don’t dry out. I would like to take credit for this recipe, but “my husbands-former bosses-secretary’s-daughter-in -law” came up with it.

Enjoy!

Married!

This blog didn't exactly work like I had planned.

My hope was that I would sit down weekly and update family members, friends & guests on pertinent wedding information.

The weeks leading up to the wedding were filled with lazy days of,
laying out by the pool for just the right tan,
lifting weights to perfect my wedding day physique,
reading every novel on my wish list,
leisurely napping every afternoon,
watching my favorite movies off my netflix que,
planning romantic dinners for my new husband,
buying a wardrobe to fit my new persona.

AND THEN I WAKE UP!

We were engaged in married in 4 months and there was little time for anything else. I started with good intentions, but as always reality hits and the weeks leading up to the wedding were filled with days of:
working,
my grandmother's funeral,
nephew's birthday,
Easter,
packing my life into boxes,
moving,
packing for the honeymoon,
making letter A tags,
buying apples,
showers & parties,
RSVP head count,
finding bridesmaid dresses,
and about a million other little things!

We are so grateful to everyone who helped out whether it was through,
making food,
moving chairs,
tying ribbons,
taking stickers off of apples,
hanging ribbons,
cutting pictures,
rolling silverware,
bringing food,
cleaning up,
running errands,
buying ties,
and the million and seven other things that our friends and families undertook.

Alex and I are so happy with our wedding day! It was exactly what we wanted. Pictures to come soon!!!

I'm not making any promises on how frequently I post. Life always has a way of sneaking up on you. I'll do my best, so stick around and I will keep you updated on the highlights!

Things are really coming together.

Items are being checked off the list.

We've tried really hard to stick to the "no-planning-until-after-New-Year" plan, but one decision leads to another.*

-We have decided to get married outside at the gazebo where Alex proposed.
-We're keeping the wedding small and inviting the majority of our guests to a "drop by" reception.
-The reception will be at the clubhouse, so we're keeping things close to home!
-Navy and yellow will be our colors.
-Bridesmaids dresses have been picked out and awaiting verification. (I'm still debating on what color.)
-My dress has been ordered :::fingers crossed::: and hopefully it's as beautiful as it looks. (& fits!)
-We are working on a menu for the reception.
-Not to mention all the fun decorating ideas we've come up with for the reception.

I feel like I've accomplished a lot and it's still not even Christmas. I know there is still a lot to do, but know it's going to be beautiful in the end!

*ALL decisions are subject to change and probably will!

We set the date.

We were planning to wait until after the 1st of the year, but decided on where to have the reception and wanted to book it a.s.a.p.

So, it looks like I'll become Mrs. Alex Anderson on

The Proposal.

Unknown to me. Alex has been trying to propose since November, but plans didn't go as planned.

Tuesday night I went on a last minute girls night out with a couple co-workers and with our matchmaker, Kris. Meanwhile, Alex was having dinner with my parents and asking for permission to marry me.

His plan was to propose on the weekend, but I decided on Thursday to drive to Miami on Saturday to see RENT. He was wonderfully calm, because I never suspected he was planning to pop the question. We arrived home late Saturday evening and he asked if I would come help decorate his Christmas tree Sunday. To which I replied

"Actually, I think I'm just going to hang out at home tomorrow."

Little did I know I had just thrown a kink into his plan. He was determined to marry me and began thinking of a Plan B and perhaps a Plan C.

Sunday afternoon I drove to his neighborhood to help with the Christmas tree. He asked me to meet him at the gym in his neighborhood (there's a clubhouse, park, pool, lake, gym etc.) We went for a walk around the lake and talked of mundane things, like ants. He then cunningly led me over to a gazebo. The gazebo is next to the park where we went on our first date.

He said he was going to rollerblade home to get some exercise, but he had something for me to read. While he was putting on his blades, I began reading the sweetest poem he had written for me. The last line of the poem said "please say you'll be my wife."

I had to read it twice.

He was standing next to me & when I turned around he
knelt on one knee (on rollerblades)
and said "Will you marry me?" to which I replied

"Yes."

He slipped the ring on my finger and it fit perfectly!

I spent the next few moments saying things like "are you serious?"
"I love you,"
"Did we just get engaged?"
"I can't believe it?"
"I had no idea?"
He began filling me in on details and I realized how much time and planning he had put into this moment and................I........... started...................to............ cry.

The sweet happy tears.

This was our moment. It was perfect.

I am in fact the luckiest girl.

And that's how he did it!
